Sky-Vue Tourist Court, Sky-Vue Cabins and Cafe, or just "The Sky-Vue" , it is a name that has resounded in the Boston Mountains for over 70 years. The first cabins at Sky-Vue were built in 1932 or 1933. They were originally of log construction. It is known for certain that Sky-Vue was an operating business by June of 1933 from an ad in the former "Winslow American" newspaper.
In approximately 1940, the cabins began to be rebuilt as the frame buildings that stand today. By the mid-40's an advertising postcard stated that Sky-Vue had "14-modern heated cottages..." With the advent of the interstate and modern motels in the 1950's, business declined, and several of the cottages and cabins were razed as they fell into disuse.
The seven cabins that remain have all had some remodeling in the past 12 years with new porches and roofs for all while others have had their entire outside removed and had foundation repairs, new doors, windows, electrical wiring, insulation, and siding installed. All the cabins have modern plumbing, AC and heat, Cable TV, and either a back porch or a picture window with a fantastic view of the Boston Mountains.
Sky-Vue operates as a bed and breakfast. All cabins, cottages, and lodgerooms include a full country breakfast from March 10th to the last weekend in November.(Off season policies and rates click here) Bed and breakfast cottages have a small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker (including coffee!). Housekeeping Cabins have all the previous amenities plus a kitchen and fireplace. All units include towels, linens, and papergoods. The prices stated below are for two people and do not include a 9% sales tax.
Cabins at Sky-Vue Lodge

Cabin # 1: This is a two-room bed and breakfast cottage. Amenities include a full private bath, covered porch with swing, two queen beds, a twin bed, and a twin size sleeper sofa. A good choice for two couples traveling together or a family. This unit sleeps up to 6 and is $65.00 per night for two people.
Cabin # 2: A one-room bed and breakfast cottage with three-quarters bath(stand up shower), covered porch with swing, and one queen bed. The perfect little cabin for a romantic weekend getaway. Cozy enough for a single traveler as well. Sleeps three with rollaway and is $55.00 for two.
Cabin # 3: Currently being remodeled and upgraded to a housekeeping cabin. Will sleep 4 and willl be $85.00 per night for two adults.
Cabin # 4: This cabin is our largest at over 900 square feet. It has a living room with a 10 foot wide picture window for a great view of the Ozarks despite the weather. There is a patio at ground level just adjacent to the playground area making this an ideal cabin for a family weekend. Cabin # 4 also has a full kitchen with dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. Two bedrooms with one queen bed in each room. The living room has a queen size sleeper and a wood burning fireplace. It has a full bath and sleeps up to seven people with a rollaway bed. $85.00 per night for two.
Cabin # 5: Three rooms make up this cabin, two bedrooms and a full kitchen. One of the bedrooms has a queen bed, a sleeper sofa, and the woodburning fireplace. The second bedroom has a full bed and room for a rollaway. The fully equipped kitchen has dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. The porch swing on this covered porch has a majestic panorama of the Boston mountains. Cabin # 5 has a three quarters bath. Sleeps up to 6 and is $85.00 per night for two.
Cabin # 6: This cabin is ideal for a several singles, a couple, or a family with young children. The bedroom has a king size bed that can be split into two XL-twins. In the livingroom there is a bunkbed. This cabin also has a kitchen and a gas fireplace. A five foot wide picture window and the covered porch with a swing give you a beautiful view of the Ozarks shine or rain. This cabin has a three quarters bath. Sleeps up to 5 with rollaway. $80.00 per night for two.
Cabin # 7: One of the cozier cabins with its own gas fireplace. The one room has a queen bed and a love seat sleeper sofa. Bed and breakfast cottage with a microwave, coffee maker, and small fridge. This cabin has a full bath and a covered porch with a swing. Another great cabin for that anniversary or birthday getaway. Sleeps two or three. $55.00 for two.
